“WHICH IS EASIEST TO SAY, YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN,

OR YOU ARE HEALED?”

BY C.W. WOOD - JAN. 2017

A PERSONAL TALK WITH OUR READERS:  We have a start into a new year, and our hope and Prayer is that our Holy Bridegroom will come for us sometime this year.  For 22 years now we have endeavored to mail one sermon a month to God’s Elect Bride.  For 35 years we have put a sermon in our local newspaper concerning the good news of the Gospel.  There is much that we who have received God’s Endtime Prophet know that cannot be shared with church natural.  Even as Jesus said to His Disciples, “I have much more to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.” I write this note to the Precious ones, some of who have helped us carry the burden from the start, and say to you with a very grateful heart “Thank you.”  I ask that each one of our readers take this note as having been written to you Personally, because that is how it is meant.  This is not a Form letter, but one to you individually!  You readers, with your Prayers and financial help are the foundation for the work we do here.  Each one of you is in our daily Prayers.  When there was a Sermon laid on my heart to get out to the People, you were there with the means to help.  And so we have sent out God’s Word as a ray of hope and a helping hand to the sick and needy.  Your gifts have provided comfort and assistance to desperate needs as we send God’s Word around the world by Internet.  We believe you have a special reward for helping God’s people to see God’s Word as preached by His Prophet, William Branham.  A day is soon to come that the natural mind can’t find words to express its Power and Glory.  When we have crowned Him King of Kings, we will meet each one of you, never to be Separated again.                                                                                                      Br. C.W. Wood

    Text Matt. 9:1-6   “And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

 2   And behold, they brought  to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed:  and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

3 And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

4  And   Jesus   knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

5   For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?

6   But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed and go unto thine house.”

    In these verses  Jesus made  a  Powerful and revealing Statement!!!    And  it fits the rest of His Bible teaching.   He said, “When  there is no more  Sin charged to a Person, then there  is no more ground for the devil of sickness to Stand on, and the devil has to leave!!!

   In our text scripture, the Lord Jesus first forgave the man his Sins---Verse 2,     “Son, be  of  good cheer, thy  sins be forgiven thee.”     Then  the  Pharisees   said in their heart  “This man blasphemes”

   They said, no man   can   forgive Sins.  But they needed to learn   that God who lives in Some People can forgive Sin.  And God was in the man Jesus and forgave the man his sins!

   The God who lived in Wm. Branham spoke and forgave the Sins of Sis. Hattie Wright’s two sons.  Jesus was teaching a truth here about sickness being healed that we desperately need to learn today!!!  He was showing us as His children that when our Sins are dropped into that tub full of bleach (God’s Blood) this takes away all the devil’s ground, or reasons, to legally leave a sickness on us.

   Notice our text, Jesus asked the Question,   “Which  is easier to  say,  thy   Sins    be  forgiven thee, or to say, Arise and walk?”

   Here is the Revelation, the Lord wants  us to receive.  To say, Your Sins are forgiven is the same thing as saying, “Your sickness has no more right to Stay on you.!!!  No legal right.  He was showing us that to say, “Your sins are forgiven is the Same thing as Saying, your Sickness can’t hold an innocent Person!!!

   Look at Verse 6,  “But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.”

   He was telling them, and us, that the forgiveness of all our Sins is the Answer to the healing of all our diseases.

   Psalms 103:1-4, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2   Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3   Who forgiveth all thy iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;”

   I heard a famous TV preacher say, “God does not help us just because we are sick and suffering.  He only moves when he sees our faith.”

   When I heard that, something rose up in me and said, “That is not true!!!  Then the Lord spoke the truth to me---Heb. 4: 15-16, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin:

16   Let   us     therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

   When we look at James 1:1-7, this is likely one place the Preacher was made to believe that God is only moved by faith.  And that is true, but when you put James 1:1-7, with Heb. 4:15-16, we see that when God Feels our Pain, He then Sends His Faith to get rid of it.

   Let’s read James 1:1-7, “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2   My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3   Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6    But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7    For  let  not   that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”

   As always, we have to put Scripture with Scripture, not build a doctrine on isolated verses.

   God spoke through Br. Branham’s mouth, bypassing his mind and pronounced God’s will.  God used Br. Branham’s mouth to say to Sis. Hattie Wright, “I give you your sons!”  That  is  to say that  God  spoke with Br. Branham’s mouth and forgave those two boys their Sins.

   He spoke through Br. Branham’s mouth and raised the dead, stopped Storms and forgave Sins and healed bodies.  Often Br. Branham did not even remember what he had said.

   God’s urgent appeal to His Endtime Bride is “Give the enemy no place at all in our lives.”

  In the following Scriptures, God gives us His instructions for how to live a Christian life, by giving the devil no place in our daily walk.

   Eph. 4: 21-34, 21  “If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25  Wherefore putting away lying, SPEAK EVERY MAN TRUTH TO HIS NEIGHBOR: for we are members one of another.

26  BE YE ANGRY AND SIN NOT: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27  Neither give place to the devil.

28  Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of  your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30   And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32  And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

   We are told in 1st John 3:21-22, 21  “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

22  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of  him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”

   Here is the Sum and Total of God’s teaching along this line.  When Jesus took all our Sins upon Himself, and they were paid for there by the Suffering of His Flesh in our Stead, then all the devil’s legal ground for condemning us was taken from him.  He was left standing on “Sinking Sand!

   Where there is no condemnation there is no ground for the devil to stand on.  But we have the Gift of righteousness to stand on.

   Rom. 5:17-18, 17  “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift  of righteousness           shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment  came upon all men  to condemnation; even   so by  the righteousness of one the free  gift  came  upon   all men unto justification of life.”

   And so in looking back at our text, We now understand that when Jesus said to the man with the Palsy, “Your sins are forgiven.”   He   was   also advising him that his sickness had no more ground and would have to leave.

   Lord,  let it be so with your Bride today as it was with this man 2,000 years ago!   Amen.
