“THE MYSTERY OF FAITH REVEALED”

    A PERSONAL NOTE TO OUR READERS: Dear Friends, we made it through another winter and spring is just around the corner.  We wait with great anticipation to See our departed loved ones up and out of the grave!  No man can explain how our Lord will do it, but no Christian can deny that it is going to happen.  It is written in the Book of Books.  Some of us are well ready to receive our new body.  We have spent a lifetime resisting the devil in order to stay alive.  Now we are headed into a time Period when there will be no devil to resist and that life is beyond anything we can imagine!  But God has Promised it, and we strain forward with great eagerness to catch a glimpse of what is surely just around the corner.  A heart-Felt thanks to those of you who have been so Faithful through the years to help us.  Our Lord has a record of it all and we will share in whatever the reward is.

   From the time of my conversion in June of 1964, I have had a never failing desire to see God’s sick children healed in the same way that we read about in the four Gospels and the Book of Acts.

   In 1967, I was introduced to God’s Endtime Message as I listened to some of Br. William Branham’s sermons on the old seven-inch reel taped sermons.

   From the sermons, I learned that the healings described in the New Testament are still for us today, that is if we go by God’s Spiritual laws to obtain them.  When I say that I learned from the Prophet’s sermons, I do not at all mean that it took place suddenly or quickly.  But over a period of long years that have been filled with human mistakes, there has come at last a revelation that has changed my life, and put in me the Revelation that God is now in the process of delivering to His Bride, “The Faith that He once Delivered to His Saints.”  (Jude, verse 3)

   In this sermon, I want to share what I have learned about God’s Faith in the last forty-nine years.  I am praying that I will be able to State the truth in such simple language that the Unlearned like myself, will easily recognize it.  Here is the Revelation:  There is a vast difference between our “Human Faith that is to say our ”Believing” and in the “Supernatural Faith of God that only He can impart!  The problem that most of us has had is that we have tried to use our “human Believing”, something that we can do ourselves, and sat down with it, waiting for The Lord to send the answer!  The truth is that real Bible Faith is not something we can do all by ourselves!

   Example: In Luke chapter 9, a man brought his son to Jesus.  The boy had a dumb spirit and the Disciples could not deliver him.  Jesus said to the man “If thou canst believe all things are Possible.”  The man made a strange answer, he said, “Lord I believe, help Thou mine unbelief.”  His Answer proves that his human Faith did not by itself bring the answer to his Prayer.  He did believe in Divine Healing, or he would not have been asking for help along that line.

   We today, need the same Revelation this Godly man had.  He believed in Divine Healing, but needed help to rid his mind of all doubts about his son’s healing.  Doubts are from the devil and they are Supernatural.  Therefore it takes the Supernatural Faith of God to get the doubts out.

   QUOTE: “BLASPHEMOUS NAMES”  JEFF. PG’S 22-23  “And the biggest part of our faith is mental faith.  By hearing the Word we—brings us to a mental recognition of God.  But if this coming from above, oh Brother, if it ever strikes this, there is a Godly, Spiritual Faith.  Then what does that faith do?  that Faith recognizes only the word, because “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (And the Word’s still God) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us, and when the Word itself is pouring into our faith, our mental faith becomes a Spiritual Revelation…”And upon this foundation I’ll build My Church.”  See, not upon a mental conception of church joining, a mental conception of that, but upon the revelation.  When them streams of grace is pouring into that mental faith that you’ve got, then upon this, a spiritual revelation,  “I’ll build My church and the gates of hell can’t prevail against it.”  See? That shows they would be against it.”  But it’ll never prevail.  Oh, what a glorious thing.”

  Br. Branham taught that there is a great difference between our natural, human Faith and in God’s Supernatural Faith that was once delivered to the Saints!  But we must remember that God holds us responsible for having our human Faith.  He did not teach that we don’t need our human Faith, but only that it is not enough by itself.

   QUOTE: “I HAVE HEARD, BUT NOW I SEE” PG.13 1965 SHREVEPORT. ----“We’ve got to have confidence.  I want this to the honor and glory of God.”  Then faith has a channel to move into; if it doesn’t, then you got mental, intellectual faith and not genuine faith from God.  That intellectual faith will get you nowhere.  Might get you emotional, but it won’t get you the healing that you’re looking for.

   So then as soon as you get to these places and know that it’s been revealed to you by the Word of God, by the revelation, by the Word that God requires you to do, then you have genuine faith. (End of quote)

   He is telling us here that God has to anoint, or quicken our human Faith, Not teaching that we don’t have to use our will to Believe, only that God has to help our unbelief After we have Believed.  Our human Faith is the channel!!!

   QUOTE: “CHURCH AGE BK.”  PG 179 (1963)  “In acts 3:16, when Peter was asked how the mighty miracle had taken place upon the crippled one at the Gate Beautiful, he explained it on this wise, “And His (Jesus) Name through faith in His (Jesus) Name hath made this man (former cripple) strong, yea the faith which is by (from) Him (Jesus) hath given him (the man) this perfect soundness in the presence of you all”  See, there it is.  Jesus’ Name and Jesus’ Faith brought about the miracle.  Peter did not claim it was his own human faith any more than he claimed that it was his own name.  He said that Jesus’ name used in the faith which is from Jesus performed that great work.  This faith is what The Lord was speaking about in Rev. 2:13 It was His faith.  It was not faith IN HIM.  But it was His Own faith that He had given to the believers.”

   Here in this one statement the Prophet said enough to preach this message on.  Peter did not claim it was his own human Faith.  He had been past that cripples man many times, and his human Faith had not brought a miracle.  To Believe the Word of God with our intellect is one thing, but to have God’s Supernatural Faith to make it work is another thing!  We have tried to make Faith a condition of the mind, something that we can do ourselves.  But the truth is real Faith is a Divinely imparted revelation to the heart!

   There must come a time when we realize that we can only have God’s Faith as He gives it.  Scripture: HEB. 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our Faith.”  All Faith originates in The Lord Jesus; He is the author of it.

   Now, let’s look at more Scripture and See the two kinds of Faith the Bible teaches.  GAL. 5:22-23 22. “But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, Faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”  Here in GAL. the Holy Ghost lists Faith as a Fruit of the Spirit.

   We understand how Fruit is grown in the Natural.  You plant a Seed, or a little Plant (sapling) then water it, Fertilize, Cultivate it and it grows into a tree and Produces Fruit.  And the Holy Ghost refers to one Kind of Faith as being a Fruit of the Spirit that can be grown!

   This Fruit Faith is our human Faith.  It can be Cultivated and grown as we have experiences with The Lord, and See Him take care of all our needs, then our Fruit Faith grows.  This Fruit Faith is our human Faith.

   But the Holy Ghost also wrote about The Gift of Faith.  1 COR. 12: 8-10,  8. “For to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10.To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.” 

   Now concerning the answer to our Prayer.  His Grace and Mercy causes Him to Send us a Gift of Faith.  He may wait awhile before Sending us that Miracle working Faith, but He will Never Fail to do His Part as long as we do our Part.

   Our Part is to believe His Word intellectually, and hold on until He sends His Gift of Faith.  QUOTE: “RISING OF THE SUN” PG.16 “Story of two Cadillac’s, Both new, both Full of Gas.  (This is the picture of two Christians)  That’s the running Power the Gasoline---When you’re going to start them, they look just alike, but one of them don’t have any Spark—no firing Power.  Well, you say,”The Power is in the Gasoline (Word) Br. Branham.”  But I don’t care how much power is in the Gasoline, unless there is a SPARK to Manifest it, it might as well be water.  The Gasoline represents the Word, but without the Spirit it won’t move.”  (Faith is a revelation)     For us to Believe the Word and stand on it is what we must do—but until Jesus moves and sparks that Word, it won’t move.”

   So God’s Supernatural Faith (The Gift of Faith) is not just us taking thought.  It includes us taking thought (or Believing) but The Lord has to send us His Gift of Faith.  It’s sad to say, but some Christians have more Faith in the devil than they do in God!

   It’s hard to understand the Bible until we See that our God is, and has always been in charge and Governing in all things.  How could He carry out a Plan made before the foundation of the world, if He doesn’t control all things?  EPH. 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good Works which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.”

   In one place Br. Branham explained God’s control over this Gift of faith in this manner.  He said, “We would not give a young child a straight razor to Play with.  We know he does not know how to use it, nor how dangerous it is.  Neither can the Lord give His Gift of Faith into our hands before we know what He wants done with it.

   No doubt we would disrupt His Plan by inserting our own thoughts into it.  Therefore, He controls this Godly Power Himself.  The thing that we have called “Faith” in times past is Simply “Trust”.  We trust in the Lord to help us and that trust, when held onto, will be turned into God’s Supernatural Faith!  Now, I See that we must trust Him, and keep that trust alive until He Sends His Gift of Supernatural Faith.

   Just as the Sun cannot come up without giving off heat and light, neither can God’s Gift of Faith come without bringing us His answer.  We can’t hide in a dark Cellar and dismiss the Sun and expect to See light.  Neither can we expect our trust to bring the answer to our Prayers while we dismiss the Christ who holds the Gift of Faith!  He will never Fail to do His Part when we have done our Part.

   No longer do we need to struggle to Believe just a little bit harder so that our answer will come.  We can rather, rest in the arms of our human trust, and know that Father will Send His Faith.

   He may wait until all our struggles stop. And our human efforts fail to Produce the Gift of Faith----But it is never far from us, and will never leave us nor Forsake us.  Amen
