“WHO IS THE AUTHOR OF SICKNESS?”

BY C.W. WOOD                                                                                                 DEC. 2018

A PERSONAL NOTE TO OUR READERS: It is the Birthday of our Lord again.  He was Born to die so that we could live forever.   He became Poor, so that we are enriched.  Because He was forsaken of God, we are brought back to God.  Because He was stripped of His Robe we are clothed with the Robe of Righteousness.  He was humbled that we might be exalted.  He came to earth that we can go to Heaven.  He became a true Servant that we might be made Free.  He was troubled so that we might be comforted.  He was tempted that we might have the Victory.  He was beaten in Pilate’s Judgement Hall so we could be healed.  He was dishonored so that we might be Glorified.  God cannot demand Payment twice for Sin, first at the Hands of Jesus and then again at ours!  Complete Payment was made for whatever We Sinners owed.  How then can wrath come to me while I trust in His death?  My soul may then trust in His rest, who is our Great High Priest.  When sickness comes it is not from Him, and we are told to resist it until it leaves.  God bless each one of our readers and Thank You for any and all support as we Press the battle.

Does a Loving, Caring, Compassionate Father (Jesus Christ) send sickness on His children to teach us some things that we need to know?  We can answer that question by asking another one.  If we had the Power or ability to put a sickness on  one of  our children  in order  to teach them,  would  we give them cancer, heart trouble, sugar diabetes or some other deadly disease?  We shudder at the thought of such a thing.  Yet some of us accuse God of doing that in order to teach us something.  The Bible truth is that our God has never done such, but has always been the one to take the sickness away when  the  devil  has  Put one on us.   It    is  a   fact that the Lord will  use  a sickness   to  teach us,  but    He is never guilty of causing it.  Concerning this matter, the Lord said, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest Prosper and be in health, even as thy Soul Prospereth” (3rd John, Verse 2)

Again He said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might   have  life, and  that  they  might   have   it        more  Abundantly(John 10:10)

But there is a general teaching in the religious world that accuses the Lord of being the author of sickness.  There seems to be a very thin line between God allowing a sickness to come to us and in Him Sending it! But actually, there is a million miles difference between the two things.  The carnal mind will accuse God of sending sickness, but the spiritual mind will lay the cause where it belongs, which is at the feet of the devil!  He is the author of sin and sickness, but Christ Jesus came to bear our Sins in His own body. (1st    Peter 2:24)

Which Sins?  Not just a few of them, not most of them, but everyone that was on the docket against us!  “Having forgiven you all trespasses (Col. 2:13) Christ came to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity.” (Dan. 9:24)

There is no wrong that Sin has done that Jesus has not repaired.  There is  no    debt    that   Sin   has  made   that  He has not Paid.  There is no enemy that Sin has brought us that He has not conquered.  There is no fire that sin has caused to burn that He has not quenched.  There is no curse that sin has caused that He has not borne.  There is no mountain that has blocked our way that He has not overturned.  There is no distance between us and Himself that He has not spanned.  And so we quote His Word.

Rom. 8:1, “There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus….”  God has said, “Come now and let us reason together”  Reason says it is not reasonable to be free from all condemnation, then accuse God of Putting sickness on us because of it.

Isa. 38:17, “Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.”     Even as  we  turn  our  back on  something  we do  not  wish to look at, so in like manner does our God turn His back on our Sins.  All of our sins have been removed from the Eyes of the Great Judge.

Isa. 43:25, declares that “He will not remember thy Sins.

Isa 44:22, “I have blotted out as a thick cloud,    thy    transgressions, and,  as a cloud, thy sins: ….”

Just as a dark cloud empties its rain on the Earth then melts away under the rays of the Sun, so our Sins have been dried up by Divine Mercy following the storm of judgement which was Poured out at the cross.

Micah 7:18-19, “Who is a God like unto thee, that, pardoneth iniquity, passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger    forever,  because he delighteth in mercy.

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou will cast all their sins into the depth of the sea.”

We could go on and on quoting God’s Word that Promises His children health and Prosperity, and feeling urged by the Holy Ghost, I will give  more Scripture that definitely proves what God’s will is Concerning all sickness that comes to His children.  It is Written that God has sent His Word to heal us, so let’s review some more of it.  His Word brought into our inner man, the Soul, is the true medicine.  It is the Gos-Pill that we need.

Ps. 103:1-3, “He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases.”

Rom. 1:16, “The Gospel is the power of God.”

Pro. 4:20-22, “My words are life and health to all their flesh.”

Ex. 23:25, “….I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”

Matt. 15:22-26,   Jesus said, “Healing is the children’s bread.”

Ex. 15:26,  I     am   the Lord that healeth thee.”  (Who does thee mean?)

1st. Peter 2:24, “By whose stripes ye were healed.”

James 5:14, “Is there any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders….”  (Who does any mean?)

Matt. 8:17, “HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES, AND BARE OUR SICKNESS.” (Who does our mean?

Psa. 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

Matt. 4:23, “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching and preaching the gospel  and healing all manner of disease among the people.”

Matt. 12:15, “….And He (Jesus) healed them all.”

Luke 4:40, “Jesus laid hands on the crowd and healed everyone of them.”

Luke 6:17-19, “Jesus healed a great multitude of people.  Virtue went out of Him and healed them all.”

Luke 9:11, “Jesus healed  all of  them   that had need of healing.”

Luke 10:8-9, The disciples were sent into the different cities with orders from Jesus to heal all the Sick.

Acts 10:38,  “Jesus  being anointed with the Holy Ghost went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

The minute that we accept God’s Gift of Healing, that’s the minute our healing starts!!  Then we just know it’s ours and do not worry about it anymore.  Consider a young child at home with its Mother and Daddy.  Here in the U.S. there is normally not a worry on the child’s mind about his next meal or for that matter, they are not concerned about any of their needs.  They know they are loved and they have put the whole load of their existence on their Parents.  How wonderful it would be if we grown up children of God could come into such  a relationship with  our Heavenly Father.    It is  possible   for   us    to  turn from our Sins unto God and repent daily as we fail.  It is written, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”  (Isa. 55:7)

God will not remit the guilt while our heart remains in love with Sin and  continues to indulge in it.  If he did, He would compromise His Holiness and encourage us in evil doing.   God  died,  not to Reconcile  Himself   to our  Sins or to Pardon our Sins while we remain in them, but rather to  bring us back to the service   of God and to the joy of it.

What are some of the true Evidences of a Holy Ghost filled life?  No. 1, we will have a genuine love for God.  The more we are forgiven for, the more we will love Him.  Then we will have a reverential fear of God.

Psa. 130:4, “But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.”

A converted Person will no longer rush heedlessly into Sin.  A truly saved Person will have a spirit without guile.  He  will not lie  to himself  about his sins,

but confess them and pray daily for help to forsake them.  He will hold God’s law in his heart.  He  will  be   found mourning for his sins.   Where  the heart is unbroken and still hard, God’s condemnation still rests on it.

The Power of indwelling Sin will eventually be broken in the life of a converted Person, for the Scripture says, “He will subdue our iniquity….Micah 7:19

The Holy Ghost in us will cause us to Worship and Praise God, and give thanks daily for our deliverance from the Pit.  There will be a genuine spirit of forgiveness toward those who wrong them.

Luke 11:4  “…Forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that  is indebted to us…..”
